Morales the merrier
John Morales was one of the chief movers and groovers who lit the fuse of dance culture in New York in the 1970s. Playing at some of The Big Apple’s hottest venues (I’m talking Studio 54, I’m talking The Limelight) he helped popularise the 12” mix, extending the records he loved to give thrill-seekers even more bang for their buck. And as head of M&M mixes he has remixed hundreds of records including cuts from Jocelyn Brown, Shakatak, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Candi Staton, The Rolling Stones, James Brown and many more besides. He continues to tour the world and his famous M&M mix albums have caught the imagination of clubbers over the last few years, bringing him real global recognition. He’s played Hoochie Coochie a number of times now and he never fails to ignite the dancefloor. Time to dig out your dancing pants.
