Wedding rings! Make yer own!
Weddings are the best, aren’t they? Apart from Christmas, they’re the only day of the year where I can start boozing in the morning without receiving admonishing looks from my parents. They’re also occasions when I always win my internal battle on whether or not I can justify spending ridiculous sums on a new dress (and bag to go with said dress - and matching shoes).
I’ve never actually been married myself (and if anyone’s looking for a mate then let it be known that I’m sturdy of haunch, can hold conversations on a variety of matters outside of reality TV shows, and am not in any way desperate), but if I was tying the knot then I’d certainly be availing myself of The Glamorous Owl’s wedding ring making service.
This superb store in Newcastle has been running highly successful classes for a number of years and they have now expanded their range to take in 9ct or 18ct gold rings (rose yellow or white) in three different widths. If you fancy it, you will be given private tuition to create your bespoke pieces, which will then be fully hallmarked. You can even add your own inscription and prices start from as little as £200 for two rings.
Their workshop classes also make an excellent alternative hen party idea (make rings, bangles or pendants for bridesmaids) or they also offer tuition to make cufflinks for groomsmen. What they can’t do – at present – is match you up with a prospective partner (I’ve already asked).
