The One Love Festival – celebrating all that is good about reggae and ska – is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and as well as holding their annual get-together down in Tunbridge Wells, they’re also hitting the road and spreading their joy our way.

I’ve got absolutely nothing against Tunbridge Wells, I just don’t want to troll all the way down there to catch some quality reggae action. Not when that quality reggae action is being served on a plate to me right on my doorstep at World Headquarters. Set to appear is the true living vocal legend that is Dawn Penn (pictured), the rocksteady singer who scored a huge worldwide hit with You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No). And the night will really have a bomb stuck under it as ringmaster in chief will be Mad Professor who last played the club in 2012, spinning some of the sweetest stuff that I’ve ever heard. The man is considered to be one of the leading producers of his generation and has collaborated with most of the main players such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Sly and Robbie, and Horace Andy (as well as bands working outside the genre such as The Orb and Massive Attack). Will I be passing this one up? No, no, no.
