shop-front-dr-jeckyll-picJPG.jpg At last! A shop with real character. A Jekyll & Hyde character…

There are two sides to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in Middlesbrough, and at least one of these involves actually altering the physical appearance of your body…

Actually altering the physical appearance of your body? Yep: Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is not only a fabulous fashion emporium stocking hand-picked rare vintage menswear, but it’s also a tattoo studio; and not just any old tattoo studio, either. It’s weird, it’s wonderful and, according to their website is “channelling a curious, mystic vibe intertwined with class and sophistication”. You don’t get that in TK Maxx. They specialise in intricate dot and line work, taking inspiration from Victorian illustration and old copper plate engravings, to geometric designs of yore. On the clothing side of things, blokes are in real bees-knees territory with some superb gear including work wear, rare military stuff, denim, functional outdoor stuff, Americana, rare sportswear – and all culled from the 1930s-1980s. Everything has been selected for condition and quality with hot to trot labels such as Levi’s, EDWIN, Polo, RRL, Woolrich, Baracuta, Adidas, Lacoste, Pendleton, LL Bean, and Lee etc all on their radar and well worth a browse, whether online or in the shop itself. Our advice: Drink the potion.
