It’s Record Store Day in April which also happens to coincide with the next Newcastle Vinyl Record Fair. Talk about all your Christmases coming at once.

Yep! All the region’s independent record stores, from RPM Music to Hot Rats to Sound It Out, will be thrumming with fans eager to snap up rare and specially released vinyl on Saturday 22 April, a date which has become THE main day of the year for music fans whose love of vinyl rivals Donald Trump’s love of talking tripe.

And that should be some Saturday as the next Newcastle Vinyl Record Fair is also being held that day, which is back and bigger than ever. It’s talking place in the first floor ballroom of Northumbria University (200 meters east of the City Hall stage door) and will feature 70+ tables laden with new and used vinyl as well as CDs, DVDs and other memorabilia. Get to it!
