Newcastle’s Mog on the Tyne is a veritable HIT! What is it? Nothing less than a gorgeous café filled with, yep, cats.

Cakes? Tick. Cats? Tick. Coffee? Tick. That’s my three very favourite ‘Cs’ and you can find them all at the delectable Mog on the Tyne which has been something of a WOW since it opened at the back end of 2015. An oasis of calm in the city centre, the café is home to a family of rescued cats (say “Hi, how’s it going?" to Stan, Tinks, Maggie, Sir Francis, Sybil, Rum, Gizmo, Jaffa, Tyrion and Tokyo”) who I think we can safely file under “Delightful!”

All the food at Mog on the Tyne is locally sourced, and brought in fresh on a daily basis, and includes a selection of gourmet sandwiches and cakes from Pet Lamb Patisserie (and anyone who has sampled the wares from their shop in the Grainger Market will know their homemade cupcakes, tray bakes, cookies and biscuits are all kinds of awesome).

Due to high demand it’s advisable to book in advance, with customers being able to grab themselves a leisurely one-hour slot for £5, all of which goes towards the cats’ welfare. Full details from their website, below.
