It’s said that real screen and pop goddesses only need go by one name: Marilyn! Madonna! Etc! But when the press blurb for ‘Famous Frocks’ started going on about ‘Audrey’ I couldn’t get Audrey Roberts out of my head. You too can dress like Audrey Roberts. Imagine! And when they mention “Farrah’s sexy wrap dress” I assume they mean the former Charlie’s Angel, Farrah Fawcett, and not ‘mobot’ enacting ad infinitum double gold medallist, Mo. Anyway. This book has all the patterns and other bits and pieces that you need to create Monroe’s iconic white number from ‘The Seven Year Itch’, Hepburn’s Little Black Dress from ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’, and Madonna’s ‘Like A Prayer’ frock. There’s 10 outfits in all including slinky pieces worn by Bette Davis and Stevie Nicks. Me? I’m holding out until they release a book that gives you a step-by-step guide to creating Rita Sullivan’s twin-sets. DP
