The Guide
Reckless General Records night, The Cluny, Newcastle, July 15 |

The Reckless General Records series of gigs at The Cluny have been a real jack-in-the-box delight and this month’s promises to be something special.
And without further ado, let’s cast a cold eye over the line-up. We’re talking The Soviets (pictured –
the Newcastle-based five-piece are on a roll and their gorgeous melding of indie/rock with trance
and house flavourings is currently seeing them reaping whirlwinds of
praise); Hattie Murdoch (superb songsmith whose grab-bag approach sees
her using her classical pianist background with modern stylings); and
Iain Crummie (the folk-pop singer/songwriter whose heartfelt songs have
seen him compared to the likes of Damien Rice and I Am Kloot). Special
guests tonight are The Kush, the Newcastle indie/rockers on the up and
up and looking for good times. They – and you – will find them here
tonight. GM
