Artists collective, gluegroup explore the meaning of ‘play’ and have invited artists, performers and creatives of all persuasions to join them.

City-wide children’s games and small scale theatrical productions are just two of the many interpretations of ‘play’ offered to the people of Newcastle in the coming weeks.

The Heaton-based Gallery glue continues its highly successful run of events, residencies and exhibitions with another action packed month. Live evening performances complement a gallery show designed to entertain and inspire in surprising ways. According to artist-blogger James Johnson Perkins: “Gallery glue shines because it sets itself apart from the norm, it realises the importance of audience engagement, experimentation and fun.”

With an inclusive, sharing attitude the collective have always been community focused, notably providing workshops and events to stimulate creativity outside of their own core group. This time gluegroup are literally opening the floor to artists, welcoming new ideas for the performance program, on a rolling submissions basis.
