MAY 08

Find:

taurus08Taurus
21st April – 21st May

It’s a brand new zodiac year for you, with the sun in your sign till the 21st; and it’s a year set to unfold out of a quite beautiful alignment involving your ruler Venus (value and worth), Saturn (boundaries and structure), and Pluto (transformation). These are the keywords which, powered by a new moon (new phase) in your sign on the 5th, are going to weave themselves with significance through events to come. Midmonth, and especially the 14th, it’s still easy to shine despite a few clouds that are building over career or long term plans; clouds which are formed from self-doubt and cleared with self-belief, btw.

Aries
21st March – 20th April

From the 10th your zodiac ruler, the feisty, fiery red planet Mars, is moving into the angle of your chart connected to matters of the heart. In other words, it’s the angle that puts joy and pleasure first, so it’s also about personal preference and taste too. Aries likes adventure and risks, so putting pleasure top of the agenda probably means there’s some sort of unforgettable rollercoaster ride in store, but as Mars is a planet motivated by desire and steered by intention, the pace is always up to you.

Gemini
22nd May – 21st June

It’s that time of year again, when your ruling planet Mercury starts another retrograde phase (appearing to move backwards). Remember it doesn’t mean things are going pear-shaped, though it might feel you have no choice but to slow down and experience a turnaround or change in direction in certain situations for a while. So what happens towards the end of May is sort of like being one step off the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for and having to hang on a bit to take the next step. Just for now. Not forever. It’s a chance to look back and review or rethink if necessary.

Cancer
22nd June – 22nd July

On the 10th Mars is set to leave your sign after its extended stay there since last September. Look back through that time and see how your intentions and desires have changed, and how many new choices and therefore new directions are open to you now. The energy as May opens supports you in this, with a reminder you’re worth your brightest vision of your future; it’s something to hold in mind around the 20th, during a full moon that places pressure and resistance on communication, because at deep levels it’s speaking of your own sense of self-worth.

Leo
23rd July – 23rd August

There’s a particularly powerful new moon (new phase) in the long-term aims and ambition section of your chart on the 5th. There’s been a focus here for a while, but it’s what happens through this new moon and the stalemate-breaking full moon on the 20th (which harks back to the past in a big way), that really helps clarify your sense of direction at the moment. From the 10th Mars moves into your sign, symbolising your most forceful and feisty side; handy to have at full moon time with whatever in the past it seems to be pointing at.

Virgo
24th August – 22nd September

Saturn, the planet known anciently as the Lord of Time, has been retrograde (appearing to move backwards) in your sign since last mid-December, which has actually felt a bit of a Dr Who experience at times. Maybe not literally so many monsters for the Virgo Time Lord to deal with, but still some interesting back to the future, deja-vu type adventures. Saturn retrograde ends as May begins, symbolising an important turning point in all that, and another big diary date is the full moon on the 20th, when Saturn feels the pressure of being on the brink of change (or is that regeneration?)

Libra
23rd September – 23rd October

Desire planet Mars is finishing a journey through the long-term aims and ambitions section of your chart this month; it’s a journey that began last September and has led to a reworking of plans due to changing priorities amid the belief you needed to face reality. All rather serious at times, but now Mars is having a change of mood, which symbolises the urge in you to dream dreams you wouldn’t have contemplated during the past months. Mind planet Mercury helps out too after midmonth, by encouraging a rethink on your perspective of the bigger picture. Reality is relative after all.

Scorpio
24th October – 22nd November

Planets are lining up in the relationship area of your chart, making this a major focus for the month, especially on the 5th when the new moon acts like a blank canvas or clean slate for the future. On the 10th your ruling planet Mars begins a journey through the most public angle of your chart, where career, status and reputation, as well as long-term aims and ambitions are at the forefront of the Mars agenda. Around the 20th it’s the second of two full moons in your sign this year (first one mid-April). All over again it’s emotionally intense yet relieving at the same time.

Sagittarius
23rd November – 21st December

The planets are making intricate patterns in the skies this month, mirroring the complexity within events in your own life. Complex doesn’t mean difficult by the way, just that if you try to follow too many threads at once to see where they are going, you might end up cross-eyed. So thumbnail-sketch the bigger picture, especially around the 14th, and also after the 20th, when there’s a full on full moon that makes you feel on the brink of something big. And you don’t want to miss that sweating the small stuff.

Capricorn
22nd December – 20th January

Seeing is always believing for Capricorn, so it’s nice there’s something to believe in at last as the month opens with a turnaround of events and a lovely line-up of planets bringing out the best in current circumstances, especially around the 5th under a new moon that feels soothingly stable and secure. Midmonth there’s welcome developments in a situation, only followed by frustration if you put too much pressure on yourself, because in the final week things feel a bit backwards in coming forwards; it’s all about timing as ever, and working with it rather than pushing against it.

Aquarius
21st January – 18th February

From the 10th, passion planet Mars is beginning a journey through the relationship angle of your chart, which means you’re all fabulous and flirty for fun, and feisty and fiery when on a mission (there’s likely to be quite a few missions). As it’s your important relationships that evoke this energy out of you there’s not much down time on this one, especially midmonth when it all seems to be about choosing which un-signposted path on the crossroads to follow for domestic bliss. But they all have the potential; it’s your intention to go that gets you there.

Pisces
19th February – 20th March

For months Saturn, planet of structure, limitation and boundaries, has been approaching a sensitive spot at a major angle of your chart, symbolising a domino effect on other areas of your life. There’s been a lot of rethinking of plans, of what to do, and where to go next; so much so there hasn’t been a lot of time to actually do anything or go anywhere next. But May is about the turning point in this, which might take a while to get up to full speed, but it’s there and you are set to feel the difference in direction immediately.
