Leo
23rd July – 23rd August

There’s an irresistible urge to act instantly on the initial draft of all bright ideas this month, thanks to a meeting between Mars and the unconventional, experimental Uranus. Communication can get radical at this time too, with the spilling of beans or the flying of fur, but it’s nothing compared to the end of the month, when the mood intensifies during a meet-up between Mars and Pluto. It’s always a choice between trusting or controlling the process when Pluto is around, and the message is that it’s ok to loosen that vice-like grip a tad.

21st March – 20th April

There’s some important planet patterns for August; including a full moon in the angle of your chart devoted to matters of the heart during the first week. Any full moon tends to focus on emotional change and this one, much like the theme of other planet patterns this month, is carrying a strong feeling of restlessness with it. The challenge is not to use change as an antidote to this, instead it’s about taking the time out to understand exactly what you are kicking against. It takes a strong emotional will to stay focused through all that, so you’ll do just fine.

21st April – 21st May

There’s a radical new moon building to its energy peak around on the 20th, taking place in the comfort zone area of your chart and carrying the message to expect the unexpected, to only imagine what you want to receive, and waste no valuable daydream time on what’s not wanted. From midmonth there’s a significant planet alignment building in key areas of your chart, noticeable in its fiery, passionate, intense and transformative energy; meaning it might be a bumpy ride if you don’t trust the universe is capable of delivering your best outcome, but oh so worth it if you do.

22nd May – 21st June

Desire planet Mars is still in your sign this month, increasing your motivation and will to succeed tenfold. When Mars is on your side like this, there are very few obstacles that can survive the unstoppable steamroller effect, so make the most of all that extra persistence, determination and strength available for pursuit of goals. Mars bumps up against your ruler Mercury and freedom-seeking Uranus around the new moon on the 20th, which takes place in the communication zone of your chart. Not a cat in hell’s chance of you counting to ten before opening your mouth, but then, why on earth should you?

22nd June – 22nd July

There’s a turning point reached during the first week of August, and again at the end of the month, and because deep and intense energy of Pluto is being highlighted both times it’s likely to include some mixed emotions about the road ahead. This month it’s easy to pendulum-swing between effortlessly warm, bright and shiny to feeling stalked by free-floating apprehension; but all that is very natural when change matters so much, and this month the changes matter an awful lot.

24th August – 22nd September

A shiny new moon on the 20th is there to emphasise how great and glorious things happen when you surrender and let the current carry you. Expect technicolor dreams with insightful messages or guidance that comes in gut feelings or goose-bumps. Planetary focus then shifts to your sign, when the sun moves in on the 23rd. A big old clash between feisty Mars and control-freak Pluto is building slowly to peak by the end of the month, which is a bit hair-raising for order-loving Virgo; especially when you are the one calling forth the chaos.

23rd September – 23rd October

A link-up between powerful Pluto and your ruler, love planet Venus, during early August can either end up being cathartic in clearing the clutter from matters of the heart, or it can indicate the urge to get high grabbing the lion’s share of power in a relationship. It’s a common Pluto dilemma, because while the latter is ultra control-freakish, it often feels much safer than confronting the self clutter of fears and foibles. By the end of the month when communication planet Mercury moves into your sign, the issue might feel forced to a head, but you are talking sense even under that Pluto pressure.

24th October – 22nd November

The full moon during the first week of August brings a domestic versus career matter to a head, marking a turning point as far as long-term plans go. The emphasis on aims and ambitions continues for much of the month, with the sun energising this area of chart, along with your sense of responsibility and accountability. Midmonth can be a positive time connected to this, when events seem to conspire to strengthen and support your intentions. There’s challenging energy to handle early August, when relationship/money planet Venus opposes the transforming power of Pluto. Not necessarily bad news of course, just intense, and most likely on the theme of values and worth. Similarly, Pluto is at it again, by the end of the month, this time with passionate Mars; raising sensitivity and probably irritation/impatience levels around the subject of long-term plans. It’s because Mercury, your relationship planet is involved at this time too, making this a month to be aware of the depth of change taking place in your life.

A thumbnail sketch of August reveals the potential it has to press a lot of buttons or scrape an Achilles heel or two, but the keyword is potential, or possibility. There’s so much happening in the heavens involving your sign at the moment you see; in particular involving the presence of powerful Pluto, which means everything feels deep or cuts deep this month, especially during the final week. So basically, if it looks deep and acts deep, you know what to expect. Intense at times, but can also be a fabulous feeling rollercoaster ride.

Aquarius
21st January – 18th February

First week of August has a powerful full moon across the relationship zone of your chart. It’s about breaking a stalemate to reach a turning point in this area of your life, from a new perspective that began to dawn on you as a result of recent events. The full integration of this perspective is absorbed as the month goes on, and a new moon (new emotional phase) on the 20th is crystal clear that nothing less than the best will do for you now. Then it’s a bumpy end to the month, but you are armed and ready with pocketfuls of hope, faith and clarity.

There is relief from recent feelings of pressure and stress, especially from midmonth, when you’re in the right place at the right time to receive a real brainwave. There’s an important new moon on the 20th, which involves your ruling planet Neptune, and can indicate the breaking of a stalemate, or a turnaround in your approach to a current situation. This fresh inspiration is found where and when you least expect all month, and that’s where the secret lies, in the changing of expectations.
